Photo's from 2015
Jan, 2015. Started the new year by taking pictures of the two signs that I had made this fall. One for "Little Swale" and another for the Yard (yard limit). I assembled my Xmas present from my lovely wife, a 8' windmill and then took pictures for the two signs I got for Xmas.
Feb, 2015. While it was snowing and cold out, worked on finishing the new switch stands. Oh, did I mention it was SNOWING and COLD out!
Mar, 2015. Finished up the switch stands and not much else. Just waiting for the snow to go away and working on things in the house. Gee, looks like the snow is going, just from the pictures from the 10th to the 13th.
April 2015, Finally the weather is breaking. Now to finish up the inside the house jobs so can get out on the railroad.
May 2015, Got a couple of things done. Repositioned the downspout and installed the second switch throw. Then on to getting the flowers, garden and the yard work caught up with. Oh, did find another railroad tie pick-up tool at the flea market. Plus, on Memorial Day, got the box cab and a flat car out. Had been charging the battery for the box cab but it did not go so well. Went about 30 feet and derailed about 6 times. Then the battery died. Guess it is time for a new battery and to get the track work done.
June 2015, getting the flowers, yard and the garden back in shape for the summer. Also, moved the big caldron, planted it and planted the garden. Then worked on leveling the track, removed the cribbing around one of the raised garden bed, built an erosion wall out by the trestle and then started on a new switch by cutting ties and staining them.
July 2015, Welded up the frame for the four note train horns, cut and stained another set of switch tie's.
Aug 2015, Built a form for a new concrete pad (for a generator) and mixed up 9 bags of Sakrete and poured the pad. Also built a landscape block wall around a flower bed.
Sept 2015, Got the propane company to come and get the big tank. Poured a new pad for a smaller tank, continued working on the switch and milled the points. Also, made some portable engine and car houses for out on the railroad.
Oct 2015, Did not get much done. Painted the 4 horn mount, made and painted some whistle signs, finished up the right hand switch and started on the left hand switch.
Nov 2015, This month was not very good at the RR. We lost Mary Ellen's father on the 11th, Veteran's Day. Harry Patterson was a good man and was always ready to help with action or words or just to listen. He will be very much missed! Only got the whistle signs made and then at the end of the month the white stuff came down, only for the one day but we know the time to get working in the shop is just around the corner.
Dec 2015, Well the weather held out and got some little projects worked on. Made some mill table covers, like what I saw on You-Tube and had used up all my short sections of rail panels, so made a 2x2 rail frame for engines to set on. Got a day with warm weather so got out the box cab and ran it. It derails all the time on the curves so took some video's and posted them in the video section. Then I had borrowed Robert Barlow's Mini GP9 and ran that. Took some more video's and posted them also in the video section. Here are the mill table covers, the rail frame and Robert's engine out on the tracks. See that video section for the others.
