July, 2013. Some old fish plates (rail jointers) from Marty McCarthy's rail that I bought and are cleaning up. Will use what I can.
Jan, 2014. Making some new fish plates (rail jointers). Cutting the aluminum bar stock, six at a time. I use 1/8" x 1/2" aluminum to make the chain plates. I tape 6 bars together, so I cut 6 at a time.
April, 2014. De-burred the blanks and then set up to drill the holes. After all the hole are drilled, took a countersink and cleaned the burrs around the drilled holes.
Sept, 2014. Making some more fish plates (rail jointers) and the hardware, used to put the panels together. I use 4 #10-32 SS pan Phillips head machine screw with #10-32 SS hex lock nuts to bolt the chain plates and rail together. I install them with every other one going the other way. So I end up with two going one way and the other two going the other way.
